Our Purpose Statement
Our student ministry exists to reach and involve students, to encourage them to develop their faith in Christ, to serve him in ministry and glorify him with their life.
Purpose Statement
A purpose statement clearly defines what our purpose is. It answers the question, “What are we trying to do?”
Every ministry is driven by something. There is always some guiding force that determines the direction and goals for the individual or the group. Unless the driving force behind a church is biblical, the health and growth of the church will never be what God intended. Strong churches are not built on programs, personalities, or gimmicks. They are built on the eternal purposes of God. That is the foundation of our student ministry as well.
The five purposes for the church can be found in dozens of passages in the Bible. Two very popular passages contain all five purposes:
The Great Commandment
Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
Matthew 22:37-40
The Great Commission
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Matthew 28:19-20
